Grounded reconnection

Deep-time walks and workshops in South Devon

The rocks beneath South Devon are hundreds of millions of years old. They’ve been pressed, folded, lifted and worn down, and they’re still here. Spending time with them can change how we hold our own lives.

I trained as a geologist and I’ve lived in Devon for over 40 years. Grounded reconnection is my way of sharing that: slow walks and gentle workshops where we read the landscape together and notice the ancient, steady parts of ourselves. One participant said it was like holding up a mirror to the vast and ancient within them.

What I offer

  • Deep-time walks - small-group walks in South Devon, reading the story in the rocks
  • Workshops - reflective sessions on belonging, scale and our place in the earth’s story
  • Family walks in the school holidays, coming soon
  • The Stone Mother, a little book I’ve written. Email me for a copy

These are not counselling or therapy. They’re open to anyone curious about the land and their place in it.

Book a workshop for your group

I can bring a grounded reconnection workshop to your venue, retreat, school or workplace. Sessions can be indoors with rocks to hold and explore, outdoors in your local landscape, or both. At the Sharpham Trust, Totnes, I invited staff to explore the deep-time story of the land they care for, and their own place within it. Workshops can be tailored to your people and your landscape.

If you’d like me to lead something for your team or event, please get in touch.
